A superb unbeaten 60 from Brendan Taylor led to Zimbabwe pulled off a their historic first-ever T20I win over Limited-overs world champions Australia by five-wickets in a low-scoring thriller of the fourth match of a World Twenty20.

  • Brendan Taylor became the first Zimbabwean batsman to score a fifty in T20 international cricket history.
  • Zimbabwe's 139 was their highest score ever in T20 internationals.
  • Australia's 138 was their second lowest score in T20 internationals.

Australia were 19-3 to scored 138-9 in 20 overs with top scorer by Debutant Brad Hodge - who blasted a unbeaten 35 off 22-balls on his debut T20I match including 2-sixes and 2-fours with strike rate of 159.09.

Andrew Symonds struck 33 off 25-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 132 and Michael Hussey 13.

Zimbabwe best bowler by Elton Chigumbura picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 3-overs, Gary Brent took 2-wickets and one for Hamilton Masakadza - Prosper Utseya.

Zimbabwe chased 139-5 in 19.5 overs with top scorer by Brendan Taylor 60 not out, Hamilton Masakadza struck 27 off 28-balls including two-fours.

debutant Vusi Sibanda - who scored 23 off 15-balls on his debut T20I match - including five boundaries and Chamu Chibhabha 15.

Australia best bowler by Stuart Clark took 2-wickets, Nathan Bracken, Brett Lee both takes one-wickets and debutant Mitchell Johnson - who took one-wicket on his debut T20I match.

Brendan Taylor named Player of the match for his match-winning superb unbeaten 60-runs knocked off facing 45-balls including 4-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 133.33.
