Dion Nash holds nerve as New Zealand pulled off a thrilling 2-run victory over Sri Lanka, despite Asanka Gurusinha heroic century and New Zealand enter into semi-finals in a nail-biting sixth match of a Pepsi Austral-Asia Cup.

Match Stats : 

* Sri Lanka needed 10-runs from Dion Nash's last two-balls. Asanka Gurusinha, who had made a heroic century, hit the first for six but then could make only a single instead of the four Sri Lanka wanted.

* Asanka Gurusinha and Upul Chandana shared 88-run stand for fifth-wicket when Sri Lanka struggling 44 for 4.



New Zealand scored 217-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Shane Thomson cracked 50 off 42-balls including 3-fours and 2-sixes.

Adam Parore struck 37 off 72-balls including 3-fours, Bryan Young hit 34 off 59-balls included three-fours.

Mark Douglas hit 30 off 54-balls including one-six & a four and Chris Harris scored 22 off 35-balls without a boundary.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Asanka Gurusinha, Chaminda Vaas, Ruwan Kalpage, Sanath Jayasuriya and Champaka Ramanayake each took one-wickets.

Sri Lanka scored 215-9 in 50 overs with top scorer by Asanka Gurusinha cracked a unbeaten 117 off 140-balls - which was his maiden ODI century.

Upul Chandana scored 26 off consuming 69-balls including a boundary, Champaka Ramanayake hit a run-a-ball 21-runs included a four and Roshan Mahanama struck 18 off 23-balls contained 3-fours.

New Zealand best bowler by Dion Nash, Chris Pringle both picked up 3-wickets and one for Gavin Larsen - Shane Thomson.

Asanka Gurusinha named Player of the match for his heroic batting display of scoring a unbeaten 117-runs knocked off facing 140-balls including nine-fours and a six.
