Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis powers to Kolkata Knight Riders emphatic five-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings and lift the their first IPL title in a high-scoring thriller of the final of a Indian Premier League.

  • Kolkata Knight Riders became the fourth team to win the IPL title.
  • Kolkata Knight Riders chased 191 was the highest successful run-chase by any team in a IPL final, surpassing the previous record of 164 chased by Rajasthan Royals also against Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural 2008 IPL final.
  • 136 : Manvinder Bisla and Jacques Kallis set up the record second-wicket partnership for Kolkata Knight Riders against Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League and KKR's second highest second-wicket stand in IPL.
  • Chennai Super Kings' 190 was their second highest score in a IPL final after their 205 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at same venue on the 28th May 2011 IPL final.
  • Suresh Raina hammered a 27-ball his second fastest fifty for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League and also his second fastest half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL after his 24-ball half-century at same venue in the 2010 IPL edition.
  • Manvinder Bisla hammered a 27-ball third fastest fifty for Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League and the second fastest fifty by an KKR batsman against CSK in IPL after Brendon McCullum's 21-ball half-century at Centurion in the 2009 IPL edition.

CSK scored massive total of 190-3 in 20 overs with top scorer by Suresh Raina hammered a 73 off 38-balls including 5-sixes & 3-fours with strike rate of 192.10.

Michael Hussey cracked a 54 off 43-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes, Murali Vijay struck 42 off 32-balls included 4-fours & a six and MS Dhoni hit a unbeaten 14 off 9-balls contained 2-fours with strike rate of 155.55.

KKR best bowler by Rajat Bhatia, Shakib Al Hasan and Jacques Kallis each took one-wickets.

KKR chased 192-5 in 19.4 overs with top scorer by Manvinder Bisla hammered a 89 off 48-balls, Jacques Kallis blasted a 69 off 49-balls including 7-fours & a six with strike rate of 140.81 and Shakib Al Hasan hit a unbeaten 11 off 7-balls contained a six with strike rate of 157.14.

CSK best bowler by Ben Hilfenhaus captured 2-wickets, Albie Morkel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Dwayne Bravo each took one-wickets.

Manvinder Bisla named Player of the match for his match-winning career-best quick-fire 89-runs knocked off facing 48-balls including 8-fours and 5-sixes with strike rate of 185.41.

Sunil Narine earned player of the tournament for claiming 24-wickets with economy rate of 5.47.
