Sidath Wettimuny struck 46 off 80-balls including three boundaries, Ranjan Madugalle hit 22 off 21-balls included 3-fours and Debutant Rohan Jayasekera - who scored 17-runs on his debut ODI match.

England best bowler by Bob Willis, Derek Underwood, Ian Botham each took 2-wickets and Debutant Paul Allott - who took 2-wickets on his debut ODI match.

Ian Botham named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took key wickets after smashing a quick-fire 60 off 51-balls including 7-fours and 2-sixes with strike rate of 117.64.
