Pace bowing attack from duo Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, All-round display from Ravindra Jadeja's two key wickets and a superb unbeaten 45 and KL Rahul's unbeaten classy half-century steers to India convincing five-wicket victory over Australia, despite a devastating bowling spell from Mitchell Starc's three-for and take a 1-0 lead in a low-scoring game of the first ODI.

  • India chased 189 was their sixth lowest successful run-chase against Australia in One-day internationals.
  • Australia's 188 was their third lowest score in a completed innings against India in Indian soil in One-day international and It is their worst-total at Wankhede Stadium in ODIs, previous lowest was 193 against India in 2007.
  • India lost their top five batsmen wickets for just 83-runs - which was their fourth worst first five-wicket collapse against Australia at their home venue in One-day internationals.

Australia scored 188 for all-out in 35.4 overs with top scorer by Mitchell Marsh hammered a 81 off 65-balls including 10-fours & 5-sixes with strike rate of 124.61.

Josh Inglis scored 26 off 27-balls including one-six & a four, Steve Smith hit 22 off 30-balls included 4-fours and Marnus Labuschagne 15.

India best bowler by Mohammed Shami picked up 3-wickets for 17-runs in 6-overs including two maidens.

Mohammed Siraj strikes 3-wickets for 29-runs in 5.4-overs including a maiden, Ravindra Jadeja took 2-wickets and one for Hardik Pandya - Kuldeep Yadav.

India chased 191-5 in 39.5 overs with top scorer by KL Rahul cracked a unbeaten 75 off 91-balls including 7-fours & a six.

Ravindra Jadeja scored a unbeaten 45 off 69-balls including 5-fours, Hardik Pandya hit 25 off 31-balls included 3-fours & a six and Shubman Gill struck 20 off 31-balls including 3-fours.

Australia best bowler by Mitchell Starc picked up 3-wickets for 49-runs in 9.5-overs and Marcus Stoinis took 2-wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja named Player of the match for his match-winning all-round performance to scored a superb unbeaten 45 off 69-balls including 5-fours after his brilliant bowling performance to took two key wickets for 46-runs in 9-overs.
