  • The 78 overs faced by England - This is the fewest overs of a opening innings of an Ashes Test before declaration, beating Australia's 200 for nine after batting for 65.3 eight-ball overs (Equivalent to 87.1 six-ball overs) in Melbourne in 1937.

England 1st Innings scored 393-8 for declared in 78 overs with top scorer by Joe Root blasted a unbeaten 118 off 152-balls - which was his 30th Test hundred & his fourth century against Australia in Tests - including 7-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 77.63.

Jonny Bairstow hammered a run-a-ball 78-runs including 12-fours with strike rate of 100, Zak Crawley cracked a 61 off 73-balls included 7-fours, Ollie Pope scored 31 off 44-balls including 2-fours.

Moeen Ali hit 18 off 17-balls including 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 105.88, Ollie Robinson 17 not out and Stuart Broad 16.

1st Innings Australia best bowler by Nathan Lyon claimed a 4-wickets for 149-runs in 29-overs including a maiden, Josh Hazlewood took 2-wickets and one for Cameron Green - Scott Boland 

Australia 1st Innings scored 386 for all-out in 116.1 overs with top scorer by Usman Khawaja struck 141 off 321-balls - which was his 15th Test hundred & his fourth century against England in Tests - including 14-fours & 3-sixes.

Alex Carey cracked a 66 off 99-balls including 10-fours & a six, Travis Head hammered a 50 off 63-balls included 8-fours & a six with strike rate of 79.36.

Cameron Green hit 38 off 68-balls including 4-fours & a six, Pat Cummins scored 38 off 62-balls included 3-sixes and Steve Smith 16.

1st Innings England best bowler by Ollie Robinson, Stuart Broad both picked up 3-wickets, Moeen Ali took 2-wickets and one for Ben Stokes - James Anderson.

England 2nd Innings scored 273 for all-out in 66.2 overs with top scorer by Harry Brook blasted a 46 off 52-balls including 5-fours with strike rate of 88.46.

Joe Root cracked a 46 off 55-balls including 5-fours & a six, Ben Stokes hit 43 off 66-balls included 5-fours, Ollie Robinson 27, Jonny Bairstow 20, Moeen Ali and Ben Duckett each scored 19-runs.

2nd Innings Australia best bowler by Pat Cummins claimed a 4-wickets for 63-runs in 18.2-overs including a maiden, Nathan Lyon picked up 4-wickets for 80-runs in 24-overs included two maidens, Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland both took one-wickets.

Australia chased 282-8 in 92.3 overs with top scorer by Usman Khawaja cracked a 65 off  197-balls including seven boundaries.

Pat Cummins blasted a unbeaten 44 off 73-balls including 4-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 60.27, David Warner struck 36 off 57-balls including 4-fours.

Cameron Green scored 28 off 66-balls including two boundaries, Scott Boland, Alex Carey both scored 20-runs, Travis Head 16 and Nathan Lyon 16 not out.

2nd Innings England best bowler by Stuart Broad picked up 3-wickets, Ollie Robinson took 2-wickets, Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Moeen Ali each took one-wickets.

Usman Khawaja named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to contributed 206 runs in an match.
