* Sri Lanka beat India by 14 runs in the second one-day international at Colombo to draw level the series with 1-1 in the three-match series, After rain had shortened play by two hours Sri Lanka made 171-5 in the alloted 28 overs and India, from the same number of overs, could only muster 157-4.


Sri Lanka scored 171-5 in 28 overs with top scorer by Ranjan Madugale hammered a unbeaten 50 off 39-balls.

Roy Dias struck 27 off 23-balls including 3-fours, Ravi Ratnayeke scored a unbeaten 26 off 35-balls included a boundary, Aravinda de Silva hit 24 off 25-balls with one-six & a four and Duleep Mendis 20.

India best bowler by Ravi Shastri, Kapil Dev, Gopal Sharma and Roger Binny each took one-wickets.

India scored 157-4 in 28 overs with top scorer by Dilip Vengsarkar cracked a 50 off 46-balls including 5-fours.

Sunil Gavaskar scored a unbeaten 36 off 34-balls including 3-fours, Mohammad Azharuddin hit 26 off 30-balls included 2-fours and Ravi Shastri hit 25 off 32-balls with 3-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Vinothen John took 2-wickets and one for Roger Wijesuriya.

Ranjan Madugale named Player of the match for his superb unbeaten 50 off 39-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 128.20.
