All-rounder Hardik Pandya's whirlwind 25-ball fifty before Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy each two wickets helped to India massive 101-run victory over South Africa and take a 1-0 lead in a one-sided game of the T20I.

  • India's 101-run win was their joint seventh largest victory by terms of runs in T20 international and It is their third biggest win against South Africa in T20Is after their 135-run win at Johannesburg in the last year and 106-run win also at Johannesburg in 2023.
  • India's 40 for 2 was their joint ninth lowest powerplay total against South Africa in T20 international (powerplay of 6-overs). Their lowest-powerplay-total against South Africa was 17 for 1 at Thiruvananthapuram in 2022.
  • Hardik Pandya became the fourth Indian player to hit 100 sixes in T20Is after Rohit Sharma's (205), Suryakumar Yadav's (155) and Virat Kohli's (124).
  • Hardik Pandya equalled a 25-ball his joint fastest fifty for India in T20 international, jointly with his 25-ball half-century against Australia at Mohali in 2022 and the fifth fastest fifty by an Indian batsman against South Africa in T20Is.
  • 33 : Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube set up the fourth highest sixth-wicket partnership for India against South Africa in T20Is.
  • India's 175 was their 16th highest score against South Africa in T20 international and It is their second highest total at Cuttack in T20Is after their 180 against Sri Lanka in 2017.
  • Arshdeep Singh has taken 47 wickets in 1 to 6-overs, The joint-most-wickets taken for India in 1 to 6-overs, jointly with Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
  • South Africa's 45 for 3 was their joint tenth highest powerplay total against India in T20 international (powerplay of 6-overs). Their highest-powerplay-total against India was 67 for 1 at Gqeberha in 2023 and 67 for 0 at Dharamsala in 2015.
  • Jasprit Bumrah became the second Indian bowler to take 100 T20I wickets after Arshdeep Singh's 107-wickets.
  • Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in all three formats and overall the fifth player to achieve this feat in all three formats after Shakib Al Hasan, Lasith Malinga, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Tim Southee.
  • South Africa's 74 was their lowest score ever in T20 international cricket history, previous lowest was 87 also against India at Rajkot in 2022.
  • South Africa's 64 was the third lowest total by any team in India in T20Is after New Zealand's 66 against India at Ahmedabad in 2023 and Bangladesh's 70 against New Zealand at Kolkata in the 2016 World Twenty20.

India scored respectable total of 175-6 in 20 overs with top scorer by Hardik Pandya hammered a unbeaten 59 off 28-balls.

Tilak Varma cracked a 26 off 32-balls including 2-fours & a six, Axar Patel hit 23 off 21-balls included a six and Abhishek Sharma struck 17 off 12-balls contained two-fours & a six with strike rate of 141.66.

South Africa best bowler by Lungi Ngidi picked up 3-wickets for 31-runs in 4-overs, Lutho Sipamla took 2-wickets and one for Donovan Ferreira.

South Africa bundled out for 74 in 12.3 overs with top scorer by Dewald Brevis blasted a 22 off 14-balls including 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 157.14.

Tristan Stubbs hit 14 off 9-balls including 2-fours with strike rate of 155.55, Aiden Markram scored a run-a-ball 14-runs included one-six & a four and Marco Jansen scored a run-a-ball 12-runs contained 2-sixes.

India best bowler by Axar Patel captured 2-wickets for 7-runs in 2-overs, Arshdeep Singh picked up two-wickets for 14-runs in 2-overs.

Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy both took 2-wickets and one for Shivam Dube - Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya named Player of the match for his whirlwind batting performance to smashed a unbeaten 59 off facing 28-balls including 6-fours & 4-sixes with strike rate of 210.71.
