Opener Saeed Anwar's third consecutive century and Inzamam-ul-Haq's half-century steers to Pakistan tense two-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, despite a Roshan Mahanama - Sanath Jayasuriya - Aravinda de Silva' half-centuries and move to top of the points table to enter into the final in the fifth match of a Triangular series.

Match Stats : 
  • Saeed Anwar became the fourth Pakistan batsman to scored six centuries centuries in One-day internationals after Javed Miandad (8), Ramiz Raja (8) and Zaheer Abbas (7).
  • Saeed Anwar became the first Pakistan batsman to scored three centuries against Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • Saeed Anwar became the first player to scored four hundreds against Sri Lanka in ODI cricket history, beating Saleem Malik and Ramiz Raja's record of 3 centuries.
  • 3 : Saeed Anwar became the second Pakistan batsman to score three consecutive centuries in One-day International and overall the second player in ODIs after Zaheer Abbas - who hit three consecutive hundreds against India in 1982 and 1983.

Sri Lanka scored 270-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Sanath Jayasuriya hammered a 65 off 56-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 116.07.

Aravinda de Silva blasted a 62 off 52-balls including 5-fours & a six with strike rate of 119.23, Roshan Mahanama scored 59 off 101-balls included 3-fours.

Arjuna Ranatunga hit 35 off 37-balls including 2-sixes and Romesh Kaluwitharana cracked a 23 off 25-balls contained 3-fours.

Pakistan best bowler by Saleem Malik captured two-wickets, Ata-ur-Rehman and Mushtaq Ahmed both picked up one-wickets and Debutant Aamer Hanif - who took one-wicket on his debut ODI match.

Pakistan chase down the target of 271 for 8 in 49.4 overs with top scorer by Saeed Anwar blasted a 111 off 104-balls - which was his 6th ODI hundred and his fourth century against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Inzamam-ul-Haq struck 53 off 76-balls including 3-fours & a six, Asif Mujtaba cracked a 34 off 54-balls included 5-fours and Debutant Aamer Hanif - who scored a unbeaten 17 off 24-balls on his debut ODI match - contained a four.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Dulip Liyanage picked up 3-wickets for 49-runs in 10-overs, Pramodya Wickramasinghe and Champaka Ramanayake both took one-wickets.

Saeed Anwar named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant 111-runs knocked off facing 104-balls including 11-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 106.73.
