South Africa scored 222-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Andrew Hudson cracked a 48 off 80-balls - who fell two-run short of his half-century - including 3-fours.

Jonty Rhodes scored 43 off 63-balls including a boundary, Brian McMillan cracked a 35 off 43-balls.

Kepler Wessels scored 28 off consumed 76-balls without a boundary and Jimmy Cook hit 15 off 20-balls contained a four.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Sanath Jayasuriya claimed a 4-wickets for 53-runs in 10-overs, Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Arjuna Ranatunga and Ruwan Kalpage each took one-wickets.

Roshan Mahanama hit 11 off 22-balls without a boundary and Pubudu Dassanayake - who scored 11 off 25-balls on his debut ODI match - without a boundary.

South Africa best bowler by Brian McMillan picked up 3-wickets, Fanie de Villiers captured three-wickets for 15-runs in 10-overs including four maidens with economy rate of 1.50.

Allan Donald picked up 2-wickets for 18-runs in 7-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.57, Richard Snell and Pat Symcox both took one-wickets.

Brian McMillan named Player of the match for his all-round performance to picked up 3-wickets for 12-runs in 5-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.40 and took three catches after scoring a valuable 35 off 43-balls included a four.
