  • Navjot Sidhu became the first Indian batsman to scored five centuries in One-day international cricket history, beating Kris Srikkanth and Ravi Shastri's record of 4-hundreds.
  • Navjot Sidhu became the fourth Indian batsman to score a century against West Indies in ODIs after Kris Srikkanth (2), Mohinder Amarnath (1) and Manoj Prabhakar (1).

India scored 260-4 in the allotted 44 overs with top scorer by Navjot Sidhu blasted a unbeaten 114 off 103-balls - which was his 5th ODI hundred and his first century against West Indies in ODIs.

Sachin Tendulkar 54 off 64-balls including 5-fours, Mohammad Azharuddin cracked a 45 off 42-balls included 4-fours and Ajay Jadeja hit 38 off 54-balls contained 5-fours.

West Indies best bowler by Keith Arthurton, Anderson Cummins, Carl Hooper and Courtney Walsh each took one-wickets.

West Indies scored 256-7 in the allotted 43 overs after losing an over from their quota for slow bowling - with top scorer by Carl Hooper hammered a unbeaten 74 off 47-balls including 7-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 157.44.

Stuart Williams struck 49 off 60-balls - who fell one-run short of his half-century - including 7-fours & a six and Brian Lara cracked a 39 off 55-balls contained 2-fours.

India best bowler by Anil Kumble, Manoj Prabhakar both took 2-wickets and one for Sachin Tendulkar.

Navjot Sidhu named Player of the match for his superb unbeaten 114-runs knocked off facing 103-balls including 9-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 110.67.
