Dave Callaghan became the first South African batsman to score a century against New Zealand in ODI cricket history. Dave Callaghan's unbeaten 169 was the highest score by an South African batsman in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 112 jointly held by Gary Kirsten against Australia at Melbourne in the 1993-94 Benson and Hedges World Series Cup and Hansie Cronje also against Australia at Johannesburg earlier in this year. Dave Callaghan's unbeaten 169 was the highest-score by any batsman against New Zealand in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 158 held by David Gower at Brisbane in the 1983 Benson and Hedges World Series Cup. South Africa's 314 was their highest score ever in One-day international, previous highest was 288 against India at New Delhi in 1991. Adam Parore became the ninth New Zealand batsman to score a hundred in One-day internationals. Adam Parore became the first New Zealand batsman to score a century against South Africa in ODI cricket history.

South Africa scored massive total of 314-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Dave Callaghan hammered a career-best unbeaten 169 off 143-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred.

Hansie Cronje struck 68 off 79-balls including 6-fours & a six, Daryll Cullinan cracked a 38 off 41-balls included 3-fours & a six.

New Zealand best bowler by Murphy Su'a claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 59-runs in 10-overs including a maiden, Shane Thomson and Simon Doull both took one-wickets.

New Zealand bowled out for 233 in 40.3 overs with top scorer by Adam Parore blasted a 108 off 95-balls - which was his 1st ODI hundred - including 8-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 113.68.

Shane Thomson cracked a 39 off 47-balls including 2-fours, Bryan Young struck 27 off 34-balls included 4-fours & a six and Ken Rutherford hit 14 off 10-balls contained 3-fours.

South Africa best bowler by Dave Houghton picked up 3-wickets, Eric Simons captured three-wickets for 46-runs in 6.3-overs, Craig Matthews took 2-wickets and one for Mike Rindel.
