Eight people were killed during a one-day cricket international today when a wall collapsed on the top tier of a grand stand.
Officials refused to call off the game between New Zealand and India at VCA Stadium, fearing riots from the 40,000 people who had packed the ground for the game.
New Zealand went on to win the match by 99 runs.
Having established a record when barnstorming their way to 8-348 in their 50 overs, the Kiwis completed the demolition job by dismissing India for 249 with 10.3 overs to spare.
It was a vital result for New Zealand, which needed to win to keep the series alive.
Everything now hangs on the final match in Bombay on Wednesday, with the series level at 2-2.

Opener Sachin Tendulkar attempted to defy the inevitable but he was finally undone by a poor piece of running by his partner Sanjay Manjrekar.
Tendulkar had slammed 65 from 59 balls before being run out to reduce India to 4-124 in the 22nd over.
Manjrekar, with 44, and Ajay Jadeja, with 61, offered resistance but it was only a matter of time before the Indian challenged fizzled.
