  • Graham Gooch became the second England batsman to scored seven centuries in ODIs after David Gower.
  • 4 : Graham Gooch became the first England batsman to scored four centuries against Australia in ODIs and overall the second player in ODIs after Desmond Haynes' 6-hundreds.
  • Graham Gooch's 136 was his second highest score for England in One-day international and the highest-score by an England batsman against Australia in ODIs, surpassing the his own record of unbeaten 117 at same venue in 1985.
  • Geoff Marsh became the fourth Australian batsman to score a century against England in ODIs after Graham Wood (2), Dean Jones (2) and Greg Chappell (1).
  • Geoff Marsh became the first Australian batsman to scored seven centuries in ODI cricket history.

England scored 278-7 in 55 overs with top scorer by Graham Gooch cracked a 136 off 162-balls - which was his 7th ODI hundred and his fourth century against Australia in ODIs - including 11-fours.

David Gower struck 61 off 100-balls including 6-fours, Jan Botham blasted a unbeaten 25 off 11-balls included 3-fours & a six with strike rate of 227.27, Robin Smith scored 21 off 22-balls with a boundary and Mike Gatting 18.

Australia best bowler by Terry Alderman picked up 3-wickets for 36-runs in 10-overs including two maidens and Tom Moody took one-wicket.

Australia chased 279-4 in 54.3 overs with top scorer by Geoff Marsh hit a unbeaten 111 off 162-balls - which was his 7th ODI hundred and his first century against England in ODIs.

Allan Border struck 53 off 46-balls including 5-fours, Steve Smith hit 35 off 32-balls included 2-sixes and Dean Jones scored 27 off consumed 67-balls contained two-fours.

England best bowler by Neil Foster took 2-wickets and one for Derek Pringle - John Emburey.

Geoff Marsh named Player of the match for his match-winning brilliant unbeaten 111-runs knocked off facing 162-balls including 7-fours and a six.
